We've all heard it before: "Follow your dreams." And many of us have wondered what it means exactly. Yes, zeal can be a good indicator that you're on to something worthwhile when looking for a new job or considering a career change. But it's not the only reason to say yes to a new opportunity, and it's certainly not the only one-size-fits-all intuition to follow. There are a lot of good, logical, and even inspiring reasons to have a job that isn't your full-time job. Anything beyond basic survival is essentially bonus points—financial well-being is as good a reason as any to take on any position.
