Grammar & Literary Concepts

The grammar of a natural language is a set of structural limitations on the production of sentences, phrases, and words by speakers or authors. The word can also apply to the study of such restrictions, a topic that encompasses areas like phonology, morphology, and syntax, with phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics thrown in for good measure. Traditional grammar and theoretical grammar are the two approaches to grammar study now available. All of our writing and speaking in English is built on the foundation of grammar. It is easier to gain fluency when you have a firm basis. A refresher on English grammatical principles, which native speakers may have forgotten over time, can be beneficial. One technique to help change bad writing habits is to go over the basics again. The eight fundamental components of speech in English grammar are the noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection.
