The totality of all conditions and forces that affect the development and life of all species on the planet is referred to as the environment. Ecology is a field of science that studies the interactions of living organisms with their physical surroundings. Both are inextricably linked, and their interactions are constant, therefore any change in the environment has an impact on living beings and vice versa. Water, air, and land are all part of the environment, as are their interactions with humans, other living animals, plants, and microorganisms. The environment provides basic human functions such as sustaining life, supplying materials, energy, and absorbing waste.
