Presentations | English

The word ‘tsunami’ became a world-wide well-recognised phenomenon with the deadly incident of December 2006, when a huge earthquake in the Indian ocean created tidal waves so large, that thousands of lives were lost and damage to property was in the millions. Tsunami’s have been around for time immemorial. Japan, for instance is no stranger to these tidal waves, with highly frequent alerts popping up across the coast of the country. The word ‘tusnami’ itself is a Japanese word. To know how these waves are created, how they work, what precautions we could take to keep ourselves safe if we find ourselves caught in a tsunami, and so on, download this PPT and give it a read.
