Presentations | English

When we look around, we always come across different types of plants. Ever wondered about their anatomical structures? The internal structure of a plant when studied at the cellular level is called plant anatomy. Plant body comprises of root, stem and leaf which are the vegetative parts whereas flowers, fruits and seeds are reproductive parts. The tissues which are a set of plant cells which perform similar function mainly divided as meristematic, permanent and secretory tissue. Meristematic cells are capable of division and are young ones. Apical meristem is found in the apices of root and shoot, intercalary meristem occurs at nodes and lateral meristem occurs in the parallel sides. Permanent tissue includes parenchyma, collenchyma and sclerenchyma cells, each have peculiar function like storage or accumulation. Secretory tissue can be classified as lactiferous and glandular involved in secretion of resins, gum or latex. A detailed discussion can be seen in the PowerPoint presentation.
