A cell is the basic unit of all living organisms. Every cell has three main parts—the outer membrane, the nucleus and the cytoplasm. It is with these parts that cells perform their various functions, including cell division. Cell division, whether it is though Mitosis or Meiosis, is a vital function of every cell that helps living organisms grow. It is also this very function that helps us heal our bodies when injured injuries. Additionally, it is cell division that is responsible for the propogation of all life forms on planet Earth.
