The syllabus for the second paper consists of 10 Units: Language and linguistics- Phonetics and phonology- Morphology- Syntax- Semantics and pragmatics- Historical linguistics- Sociolinguistics- Areal topology and South Asian language families- Interdisciplinary and applied linguistics I - Interdisciplinary and applied linguistics II. The paper contains hundred (100) objective type questions of two (2) marks each and all questions are compulsory. The exam will be in online mode and the duration will be two hours.
