An important compound which comes to our mind while thinking of inorganic compounds is water. It is a universal solvent. This solvent has an important role in maintaining our living biological systems. Carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen are considered as the four important elements of living system. The air we breathe in has a mixture of elements. Inorganic chemistry can be better studied as the field which deals with the physical properties of a chemical compound. Chemistry is a vast field of study which we touch, feel, smell and even eat in our everyday life. Interesting isn’t it? How is the soap we use for cleaning made? How is vinegar used as a preservative? The answer to all these questions lies in the world of chemistry. The water we drink, the food we eat, the medicines we take are all a part of chemistry. We ourselves are the products of chemistry since our body is made of minerals and chemicals.
