Cartography

Cartography is the method through which maps are studied, created and designed. A confluence between practice, science, and art, cartography guides the principles and practical standards behind maps and map making. Maps reflect a perspective, one which isn't necessarily accurate to reality. Major concepts in cartography include scale, projection, spatial relationship, generalization, and symbolization and data modeling.
