Biomedical Chemistry

Biomedical chemistry is a vast field which deals with the transformation of proteins and DNA to study and research about new pathogens and vaccines. It also helps in repairing damaged DNA. Biomedical Chemistry field is used not only in pharmaceuticals, but also in forensic science and drug development and is of world wide use. The biomedical chemists separate, identify and study about the chemical composition and nature of the cells obtained through analysis. Chemistry is a field of study which we touch, feel, smell and even eat in our everyday life. Interesting isn’t it? How is the soap we use for cleaning made? How is vinegar used as a preservative? The answer to all these questions lies in the world of chemistry. We ourselves are the products of chemistry since our body is made of minerals and chemicals. The water we drink, the food we eat, the medicines we take are all a part of chemistry.
