"Although the name of the Surah is a mention of “Prophet Yunus”, the chapter is not about Prophet Yunus. It acts as a reference and a symbol in order to set this Surah apart from the rest of the Surahs of the Quran. Also called “Jonah”, Yunus is the tenth chapter of the Holy Book of Quran. It comprises of a total of 109 verses divided into 11 Rukus or Sections. This Surah was revealed in Mecca and the main emphasis in here is on the Oneness of the God Himself. It addresses and discusses the various aspects of the elementary pillars of the Islamic system of belief. It also gives answers to the objections of the non – believers who evidently raised their fingers against the Prophethood of Muhammad. The major pillars mentioned above comprises of the ‘Oneness of God’, ‘Prophethood’ and ‘Life after death’."
