"Yathi Panchakam" is a work by Adi Sankaracharya, which tells about how a Brahmin should realise the ultimate reality of Brahmin. The slokam goes like "Vedanta Vaakyeshu sadaa ramanthah Bhiksha anna matrena cha thustimantha Vishokavanthah karunaika vanthah Kaupinavanthah khalu bhaagyavanthah". Sankara is talking about the saints who is not bothered about activities or the world in itself. There is nothing but Brahman alone exists is the meaning.
ബ്രാഹ്മണ പരമമായ യാഥാർത്ഥ്യം ഒരു ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ എങ്ങനെ തിരിച്ചറിയണം എന്ന് പറയുന്ന ആദിശങ്കരാചാര്യരുടെ കൃതിയാണ് "യതി പഞ്ചകം". "വേദാന്ത വാക്യേഷു സദാ രാമന്തഃ ഭിക്ഷ അന്ന മാത്രേണ ച തുസ്തിമന്ത വിഷോകവന്തഃ കരുണൈക വന്തഃ കൌപിനവന്തഃ ഖലു ഭാഗ്യവന്തഃ" എന്ന ശ്ലോകം പോകുന്നു. പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചോ ലോകത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ വേവലാതിപ്പെടാത്ത സന്യാസിമാരെക്കുറിച്ചാണ് ശങ്കരൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്. ബ്രഹ്മം മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളൂ എന്നതാണ് അർത്ഥം.
