Working With Communities and NGO

Presentations | English

Community development entails the provision of infrastructural facilities to the people. The provision of these social amenities can be attained through organizations which includes, the government, community development associations, non-governmental organisations etc. Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) are non profit making and self governing bodies set out to ameliorate the plight of the people in need of life sustaining and basic facilities like food, shelter, clothing etc. The community service organizations and NGOs look into various aspects of community development such as: community mobilization; environment, health and sanitation awareness creation; promotion of children's rights and laws; promotion of sexuality and reproductive health education; fight against child labour and human trafficking etc. The government should participate in the funding of NGOs activities and provide adequate support and generally NGO's are a positive approach to rural development.
