We Are Family, directed by Karan Johar, is an 'authentic' replica of the Hollywood film Stepmom (1999). The movie is directed by Siddharth Malhotra and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar under Dharma Productions. The distribution rights were handled by Sony Pictures Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures. Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, and Arjun Rampal play the lead roles in the film. This film, like every other Dharma Production, has poignant moments that will touch at your heartstrings. The movie garnered great reviews from critics upon its initial release, with Kajol and Kapoor's performances earning praise. With the working title Love You Maa, Karan Johar intended to adapt Stepmom for an Indian audience. He originally planned to buy the film's rights, but instead chose to co-produce it with Sony Pictures. Shankar Ehsaan Loy created six original songs for the movie.
