Virunnukaran' is one of the best poems by the great Malayalam poet Changampuzha Krishnapillai. The poet writes this poem in the joy of the birth of his first child. The poet speaks of the poet's own child as a guest. The joy of a baby's birth can be clearly seen in this poem.
മലയാളത്തിന്റെ മഹാകവി ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ കൃഷ്ണപിള്ളയുടെ അവിസ്മരണീയമായ കവിതയാണ് 'വിരുന്നുകാരൻ'. തന്റെ ആദ്യത്തെ കുഞ്ഞ് പിറന്നപ്പോഴുണ്ടായ സന്തോഷത്തിലാണ് കവി ഈ കവിത എഴുതുന്നത്. വിരുന്നുകാരനായി കവിതയിൽ പറയുന്നത് കവിയുടെ സ്വന്തം കുഞ്ഞിനെ തന്നെയാണ്. കുഞ്ഞിന്റെ ജനനത്തിൽ ഒരച്ഛനുണ്ടായ സന്തോഷം ഈ കവിതയിൽ വ്യക്തമായി കാണുവാൻ സാധിക്കും.
