Sreekumaran Thampi directed and produced Vilichu Vilikettu, a 1985 Indian Malayalam film starring Mammootty, Shubha, Balan K. Nair, and Mahalakshmi. Sreekunaran Thampi himself wrote the lyrics for the song 'vilichathatu vilikettatharu'. Raveendran composed the music for the film. Raveendran Master, Madhavan Raveendran, was a well-known South Indian music composer and playback singer from Kerala. The song was sung by kattassery joseph Yesudhas, also known as "Dassettan" by Malayalees and "Ganagandharvan" by the public. He is one of the most popular singers in Malayalam and India.
