Vidaparayan samyamayila..' is the first few lines from the Malayalam poem 'Vida', composed by Ayyappa Panikar. He was also a literary theorist. Ayyappa Panicker is known as the one who introduced modernity to the world of Malayalam literature. Through constant innovation he brought Malayalam poetry to the world's attention. He represented Malayalam in many religious conferences and was the global edition of Malayalam literature. He was also noted as an accomplished teacher, critic and linguist. His presence was also reported in media such as drama, painting and cinema.
"""മലയാളം കവിത - വിട , രചന – അയ്യപ്പ പണിക്കര്‍ ആദ്യവരികൾ :- ""വിട പറയാന്‍ സമയമായില്ല എന്നുതന്നെയാകട്ടെ. ആര്‌ ആരോടാണ്‌ വിട പറയുന്നത്‌? സുഹൃത്ത്‌ സുഹൃത്തിനോട്‌ വിട പറയുമോ? പറയാന്‍ സാധിക്കുമോ? എന്നെങ്കിലും? പിന്നെ ആരാണ്‌ വിട പറയുന്നത്‌? പറയേണ്ടത്‌? നമ്മെ ദ്രോഹിച്ചവരോട്‌, ചതിച്ചവരോട്‌, നമ്മോടു നന്ദികേടു കാണിച്ചവരോട്‌ അവര്‍ക്കു മാപ്പു കൊടുക്കാന്‍ പറ്റുമോ? ഒരു ജീവിതത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കലല്ലേ തെറ്റുപറ്റാന്‍ പാടുള്ളു? തെറ്റിനോടാണു വിട പറയാവുന്നത്‌."" സാഹിത്യ സൈദ്ധാന്തികനുമായിരുന്നു ഡോ. കെ. അയ്യപ്പപ്പണിക്കർ. ആധുനികതയെ മലയാള സാഹിത്യലോകത്തിനു പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊടുത്തയാൾ എന്ന നിലയിലാണ് അയ്യപ്പപ്പണിക്കർ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. നിരന്തരമായ നവീകരണത്തിലൂടെ അദ്ദേഹം മലയാള കവിതയെ ലോകശ്രദ്ധയിലേക്കു നയിച്ചു. ഒട്ടേറെ വിശ്വസാഹിത്യ സമ്മേളനങ്ങളിൽ മലയാളത്തെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം മലയാള സാഹിത്യത്തിന്റെ ആഗോള പതിപ്പായിരുന്നു. പ്രഗല്ഭനായ അദ്ധ്യാപകൻ, വിമർശകൻ, ഭാഷാപണ്ഡിതൻ എന്നീ നിലകളിലും ശ്രദ്ധേയനായിരുന്നു. നാടകം, ചിത്രരചന, സിനിമ തുടങ്ങിയ മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലും സാന്നിധ്യമറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു."
