"Vanachandrikayude yamunayil neenthum" is a song from P. Karamachandran's 1967 Malayalam film Pooja. Prem Nazir, Sheela, Sukumari, and T. S. Muthaiah are among the cast members of the film. G. Devarajan wrote the music, while P. Bhaskaran wrote the lyrics. This song was written by P Leela and performed by her. She was a Carnatic vocalist, a music director, and an Indian playback singer. She has almost 5,000 songs in various Indian languages on her discography. Her lovely and melodious voice has earned her the nickname Ganamani. In 2006, she received the Padma Bhushan. P Bhaskaran was a Malayalam poet, filmmaker, and lyricist of Malayalam cinema songs. He wrote almost 3000 songs for over 250 films. The Government of Kerala honoured him with the J. C. Daniel Award for his contributions to Malayalam cinema.
1967-ൽ പി.കരമചന്ദ്രന്റെ മലയാള ചിത്രമായ പൂജയിലെ ഒരു ഗാനമാണ്"വനചന്ദ്രികയുടെ യമുനയിൽ നീന്തും". പ്രേം നസീർ, ഷീല, സുകുമാരി, ടി.എസ്. മുത്തയ്യ എന്നിവരാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെ അഭിനേതാക്കൾ. ജി.ദേവരാജൻ സംഗീതം എഴുതിയപ്പോൾ പി.ഭാസ്കരൻ വരികൾ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ഗാനം എഴുതിയത് പി ലീലയാണ്. അവർ ഒരു കർണാടക ഗായികയും സംഗീത സംവിധായികയും ഇന്ത്യൻ പിന്നണി ഗായികയുമായിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ മനോഹരവും ശ്രുതിമധുരവുമായ ശബ്ദം അവർക്ക് ഗാനമണി എന്ന വിളിപ്പേര് നേടിക്കൊടുത്തു. 2006ൽ അവർക്ക് പത്മഭൂഷൺ ലഭിച്ചു. പി ഭാസ്കരൻ ഒരു മലയാള കവിയും ചലച്ചിത്ര നിർമ്മാതാവും മലയാള സിനിമാ ഗാനങ്ങളുടെ ഗാനരചയിതാവുമായിരുന്നു. 250-ലധികം സിനിമകൾക്കായി 3000-ത്തോളം ഗാനങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹം എഴുതി. മലയാള സിനിമയ്ക്ക് നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾ പരിഗണിച്ച് കേരള സർക്കാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ജെ സി ഡാനിയൽ അവാർഡ് നൽകി ആദരിച്ചു. ചലച്ചിത്രരംഗത്ത് സജീവമാകുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനും ആകാശവാണി ജീവനക്കാരനുമായിരുന്നു. തന്റെ പാട്ടുകളിലും കവിതകളിലും ഭാഷയുടെ ലളിതമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹം പ്രശസ്തനായിരുന്നു.
