"The subject of Indian Economy comes under syllabus of Paper I Civil Services Prelims Exam. Paper I is an exam conducted for 2 hours with 200 marks. The main topics include current events of national and international importance, history of India and Indian National Movement, India and World Geography, Indian Polity and governance, economic and social development, general issues on environmental ecology and general science. The structure of Indian Economy discussed under this syllabus mainly can be classified as Indian economy before independence and after independence. After independence, Indian Economy can be again distinguished into Pre-liberalization era and Post-liberalization era. Economic growth and agriculture, new economic policy with trade, industry, public finance, monetary system and employment is to be considered under Post-liberalization era.
