Krishi optional subject has 2 papers (Paper I and Paper II) in UPSC Prelims. Each paper is of 250 marks with a total of 500 marks. The syllabus for Paper 1 covers a variety of subjects such as Agroecology, cropping and farming systems, types of forestry plantations, weeds and their features, soil conservation, farm management agricultural tension and more. The syllabus for Paper 2 covers subjects like cell structure, laws of heredity, plant breeding, seed production, post-harvest technology, food production trends in India and more.
