UPSC IAS/IPS Prelims English Language (1995-2018) Paper I & II

The paper of Indian language and English aims to evaluate the understanding ability of the aspirant at serious discursive prose. It is important to note about the time duration, which is two hours and negative marking. For each wrong answer, one by third or 33% mark will be deducted from the secured score. The pattern of the question paper might include as follows: 1. Comprehension of given passages, 2. Short essays, 3. Precise writing, 4. Usage and Vocabulary. The marks obtained for these papers of English and Indian language are not taken for the final evaluation of the score obtained. A person can directly become an IAS officer through the UPSC IAS Prelims Exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. There is a three tier stage for completing the process of examination. It includes the Civil Services Preliminary Examination, the Civil Services Main Examination and a personal interview to determine your level of confidence and skills.
