Defence & Strategic Studies is the discipline which covers all strategic as well as domestic issues that influence the security or defence of the country. The course study helps the applicants to pick up adequate military education basically in its historical as well as geographical areas. One can get jobs at Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, education corps, defence journalism and many more fields. Students of defence studies can also join Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis (IDSA), New Delhi as Research Associate / Research Fellow, Research Officer. The most frequently and easiest ways to join the Defence Forces after the bachelor's degree is to take Combined Defence Service Examination. Your age has to be between 19-24 years. Your graduation should be from UGC recognized university or institution. Of all professions, a career in defence is the most respected, noblest and indeed the most sacred one.
