Sometimes, folksongs can be simple with less lyrics and repetition of those lyrics in a particular tone. The story of folk songs moves from one generation to another. In olden days, farmers while in work used to sing songs to reduce their work load. Later it came to existence as folksongs. Always such songs gives an ancient traditional remembrance. A simple folksong goes like this: "Thondan veetil enthund nayoori vecha choorund kaipayka vecha curry und ambakadacheera kottund"
ചിലപ്പോൾ, നാടൻപാട്ടുകൾ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക സ്വരത്തിൽ, ആ വരികളുടെ ആവർത്തനവും കുറച്ച് വരികളും കൊണ്ട് ലളിതമായിരിക്കും. നാടൻ പാട്ടുകളുടെ കഥ ഒരു തലമുറയിൽ നിന്ന് മറ്റൊന്നിലേക്ക് മാറുന്നു. പണ്ടൊക്കെ കർഷകർ ജോലിയിലിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ജോലിഭാരം കുറയ്ക്കാൻ പാട്ടുകൾ പാടുമായിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് അത് നാടൻപാട്ടുകളായി നിലവിൽ വന്നു. ഒരു ലളിതമായ നാടൻപാട്ട് ഇങ്ങനെ പോകുന്നുതൊണ്ടൻ വട്ടീൽ എന്തുണ്ട് നായൂരി വെച്ച ചോറുണ്ട് കപ്പയ്ക വെച്ച ഉണ്ട് അമ്പകടചീര കൊട്ടുണ്ട്.
