The song 'Thiramalakalude ganam thirathinathu jeevaragam ee snagmathinu snageethathil ini ninte dukhangal maraku.. maraku' was written by Sreekumaran Thampi, composed by MK Arjunan and sung by KJ Yesudas for the film 'Panchavadi'. Produced by VM Chandi and directed by J Sasikumar the Malayala cinema, 'Panchavadi' was released in 1973 under the banner of S productions. On 17th July 1970, the movie was released in Kerala. The film features actors like Prem Nazir, Adoor Bhasi, Vijayasree, K P Ummar, Jos Prakash, T S Muthayya, Sadana, Meena, Sankaradi, Vincent, Bahadur and Paravoor Bharathan.
"""പഞ്ചവടി"" എന്ന ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഗാനമാണ് ""തിരമാലകളുടെ ഗാനം തീരത്തിനതു ജീവരാഗം ഈ സംഗമത്തിൻ സംഗീതത്തിൽ ഇനി നിന്റെ ദുഃഖങ്ങൾ മറക്കൂ...മറക്കൂ."" എന്ന ഈ ഗാനം. ശ്രീകുമാരൻ തമ്പി എഴുതി, എം കെ അർജ്ജുനൻ സംഗീതം നൽകി, കെ ജെ യേശുദാസ് ആലപിച്ച ഗാനം. എസ് പ്രൊഡക്ഷൻസിന്റെ ബാനറിൽ വി എം ചാണ്ടി നിർമ്മിച്ച് ജെ ശശികുമാർ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് 1973ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് പഞ്ചവടി. ഈചിത്രം1970 ജൂലൈ 17-ന് കേരളത്തിൽ പ്രദർശനം തുടങ്ങി. അഭിനേതാക്കൾ പ്രേം നസീർ, അടൂർ ഭാസി, വിജയശ്രീ, കെ.പി. ഉമ്മർ, ജോസ് പ്രകാശ്, ടി.എസ്. മുത്തയ്യ, സാധന, മീന, ശങ്കരാടി, വിൻസന്റ്, ബഹദൂർ, പറവൂർ ഭരതൻ തുടങ്ങിയവർ."
