The panchabhutalu are the five elements in nature. Namely earth, water, fire, air and sky. It is believed that Siva represents all these five elements. We have five Panchabhutalingalu on earth, each representing Siva in one of these five forms. These Panchabhutalingalu are present in Kanchipuram, Jambukeshwaram, Arunachalam, Srikalahasti and Chidambaram. Of these, Srikalahasti is in the state of Andhra Pradesh, and is close to the pilgrim centre of Tirumala. This presentation covers many interesting facets about the temple, including the legends and mythology surrounding the place, the history of the place and the ancient temple’s architecture.
