Ramayanam holds a great significance amongst the people of India. The Telugu states too are no exception. We bring to you a three-part series that follows the story of Rama, Sita and Lakshmana through the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, siting local lores, legends and beliefs. Prominent amongst these are places where Rama is believed to have met Sabari and also where Rama came across Jatayu. The first part in this series is a brief narration of the epic.
