The Godavari River is one of the longest rivers in the Indian subcontinent. It measures around 910 miles in length (1465 km) and has about 121,000 square miles (313,000 square kilometres) of water expanse. While the river originates in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, is flows through both the Telugu states before finally emptying into the Bay of Bengal.
