The English were not the first europeans to trade with India. Along with the British East India Company, the Ducth, Portuegese, Danes and the French also established a trading presence in the country. In fact, the Dutch came much before the British and set up many factories here. They had many such establishements even on the coast of Andhra Pradesh, prominent among them are at Masulipatam and Bheemunipatnam.
