In the year 1347 AD, the Deccan revolted against the Delhi Sultan Mohammed Bin Tughlaq and a local leader Hasan Gangu established a new dynasty by the name of Bahamani. They had their capital at Gulbarga and it was much later shifted to Bidar. Within a few years, this dynasty managed to defeat, plunder and take over most of the current day Telangana which was otherwise ruled by other dynasties like the Musunuri Nayaks, the Padma Nayaks and the Reddiraajulu.
