The British rule in India was opposed by many India rulers, even in its early days. While the British and the local rulers were occupied thus, and with the added tensions between the British and the French during the Anglo-French Carnatic Wars, a few people like Kamal, Najeeb, Vahaab, Raghavachari, Balakrishna Sastry, Gopal Rao and Narayana Sastri attempted to loot the temple at Tirumala.
