Synchronous Optical Networking

Presentations | English

The invention process is driven by necessity. It was made easier to communicate over great distances thanks to the creative invention of optical fibre. The informal social exchange of information and ideas among persons with similar interests or professions is known as networking. A standardised digital communication system called synchronous optical networking (SONET) allows for the synchronous transmission of several data streams over extensive distances using fibre optic cables. The American National Standards Institute standardised SONET (ANSI). In telephone networks, SONET can be used to transmit and multiplex data streams via fibre optic cables. It is used for the transmission of massive amounts of phone calls as well as data streams through fibre. Look through this PPT for more information about SONET.
