P. Susheela, also known as Pulapaka Susheela, is an Indian playback singer who has been connected with South Indian film for over six decades, primarily from Andhra Pradesh. She is one of India's most famous and well-known playback singers. She contributed her magical voice to the song 'swapnathil enne vannu nulliyunarthiya'. The Guinness Book of World Records and the Asia Book of Records have both acknowledged her for playing a record amount of songs in various Indian languages. She's also won five National Film Awards for Best Female Playback Singer, as well as a slew of state honours. Susheela is well-known for her mellifluous vocal performances for over 50,000 film songs in South Indian languages and is largely regarded as a vocalist who defined feminism in South Indian cinema.
