The song "Swapnangale veenurangoo" is from the movie Thakilu Kottampuram. It was sung by K J Yesudas. Darsan Raman composed the song's music while Guna Singh provided the background score. It's lyrics was written by Balu Kiriyath. Balu Kiriyath wrote and directed the movie in 1981, based on the story Venalil Vidarunna Pookkal by S. Thankappan. The film was also produced by him. Balu Kiriyath is an Indian Malayalam film lyricist, screenwriter and director. He was the director of Kerala state Film development corporation for 10 years and served as member secretary of Vilopilly samskrithi Bhavan and director of the department of culture government of Kerala for 4 years. The song's Raga is Harikamboji. Prem Nazir, Sheela, Mohanlal, and Jagathy Sreekumar play important parts in the film. At the box office, the picture was a commercial triumph.
സ്വപ്നങ്ങളേ വീണുറങ്ങൂ എന്ന ഗാനം തകിലു കൊട്ടാമ്പുറം എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെതാണ്. പാടിയത് കെ ജെ യേശുദാസാണ്. ദർശൻ രാമൻ ഗാനത്തിന് സംഗീതം നൽകിയപ്പോൾ ഗുണ സിംഗ് പശ്ചാത്തല സംഗീതം നൽകി. ബാലു കിരിയത്താണ് ഇതിൻ്റെ വരികൾ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. എസ്.തങ്കപ്പന്റെ വേനലിൽ വിടരുന്ന പൂക്കൾ എന്ന കഥയെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി 1981-ൽ ബാലു കിരിയത്ത് രചനയും സംവിധാനവും നിർവഹിച്ചു. ഈ ചിത്രവും അദ്ദേഹം തന്നെയാണ് നിർമ്മിച്ചത്. ബാലു കിരിയത്ത് ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്ര ഗാനരചയിതാവും തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തും സംവിധായകനുമാണ്. 10 വർഷം കേരള സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര വികസന കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ ഡയറക്ടറായും വൈലോപ്പിള്ളി സംസ്കൃതി ഭവനിൽ മെമ്പർ സെക്രട്ടറിയായും 4 വർഷം കേരള സർക്കാർ സാംസ്കാരിക വകുപ്പ് ഡയറക്ടറായും സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. ഹരികാംബോജിയാണ് ഗാനത്തിന്റെ രാഗം. പ്രേം നസീർ, ഷീല, മോഹൻലാൽ, ജഗതി ശ്രീകുമാർ എന്നിവരാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസിൽ ചിത്രം വാണിജ്യ വിജയമായിരുന്നു.
