Structure of the Atom

Presentations | English

Protons, Electrons and Neutrons are the three basic particles of atom. Protons and Neutrons situate at the centre portion or nucleus of atom. The outer part contains Electrons and so it's called Electron Shells. All chemical properties of an element are retained by atom. It's the smallest unit of matter. Atoms can't be created or destroyed. Property, size and mass of all atoms in an element are same and in different elements these qualities differ. Number of protons and electrons are equal in an atom. These particles have positive and negative charges respectively. This feature makes atom electrically neutral. More details can be found in the presentation. Please read.
