Whenever any difficulties or obstacles arise in our life we usually approach our mothers. It is our firm belief that mothers have the solution to all kinds of problems. Likewise, when we visit religious places or pilgrim centers we first worship the goddess then the lord almighty. Similarly, Lalitha Saharsanamam is the only prayer chanted at any time and any place such as temple, a family occasion or a marriage, etc. It is firmly believed that Lalitha Sahasranamam is powerful and ensures a life free from poverty, ill-health and mental stress, and so on. The Lalithambigai temple is actually situated in Tirumeeyachur on the Mayavaram-Tiruvarur road. Over there the goddess is seen in a seated posture and blesses the soul of the devotee who prays. It is believed that enchanting the Lalitha Sahasrananmam in the temple is considered as the fruit of good karma done by the devotees in their previous births. The powerful prayer was authored by celestial women who blessed Bhaskar Rayar, a sincere devotee of goddess Lalitha. Some of the benefits of chanting the prayer are it protects the infants from premature death and provides a long and contended healthy life.
