Ramakrishna Paramahamsa born Gadadhar Chattopadhyaya was an Indian Hindu mystic and religious leader in 19th-century Bengal. Ramakrishna experienced spiritual ecstasies from a young age, and drew from several religious approaches, including devotion toward the Goddess Kali and observance of elements from Tantra, Bhakti, Vaishnava, and AdvaitaVedanta, as well as dalliances with Christianity and Islam.
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആധുനിക ആദ്ധ്യാത്മികാചാര്യന്മാരിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രമുഖനായിരുന്നു ശ്രീരാമകൃഷ്ണ പരമഹംസൻ (ഫെബ്രുവരി 18, 1836 - ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 16, 1886). കൊൽക്കത്തക്കടുത്തുള്ള ഹൂഗ്ലിയിലെ കമാർപുക്കൂർ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ഒരു ദരിദ്ര ബ്രാഹ്മണ കുടുംബത്തിൽ 1836 ഫെബ്രുവരി 17-ന് ആയിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജനനം. വൈഷ്ണവരായ ഖുദീറാം ചാറ്റർജി, ചന്ദ്രാദേവി എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു മാതാപിതാക്കൾ. പൂർവ്വാശ്രമത്തിലെ നാമം ഗദാധരൻ എന്നായിരുന്നു.
