Sports Medicine is the name given to certain medical techniques used to prevent, diagnose and treat bone and muscle injury between sports and exercise. In addition to the athlete, this sports treatment team includes a physiotherapist, surgeon, athletics coaches, other coaches, and physiotherapists. Because of the competitiveness of sports, the main goal of sports medicine is to heal the patient faster. This created new strategies and ideas in this area. Although there is a wide range here, it is considered by many to be part of the orthopaedic field as sports-related diseases arise in the muscles and bones. Sports medicine also includes a wide variety of disciplines. Illnesses or accidents that occur during sports can be caused by environmental, physical and psychological factors. Sports medicine is a specialized field of study in heart disease, lung diseases, dermatology, ophthalmology, rehabilitation, orthopaedics, dentistry, physiology, biotechnology and accidents. Extensive knowledge is required to treat menstrual disorders, bone density related diseases, diet, ageing and pregnancy disorders in athletes. Specialist knowledge in medicine and sports is required to treat diseases related to the endocrine system and other diseases of athletes. The use of various drugs in sports, drug control, and sex determination of athletes create complex psychological, legal, and health problems. Another issue in international sports competitions is to maintain the health of athletes in a way that is appropriate for the relevant climate in foreign countries.
