Special Forces of India

Presentations | English

The special forces or the SFs refer to a particular team of experts and trained officers who are to carry out special assignments and tasks. The expert officers are military officers who have been selected after a series of intense training. India has a set of different special force units. Each branch of the Indian armed forces has separate special forces. The MARCOS, the special force of the Indian Navy and the Garud Commandos of the Indian Air Force are two major examples. There are also another set of special forces which are not under the control of the Indian Armed Forces but under civilian groups of organisations such as the Home Minister’s National Security Guard. The RAW or the Research and Analysis Wing also has another special force exclusively for the intelligence agency of India that it is. The special forces of India are numerous and distinct.
