Sooryagrahanam is a song from the movie Oru Penninte Katha. It is a malayalam film, released in 1971 which was written by E. Moses and directed by K S Sethumadhavan. The music was composed by G. Devarajan master with lyrics by Vayalar Ramavarma. K J Yesudas performed this song. Govindan (T. S. Muthiah), who works in Madhavan Thampi's (Satyan) tea farms, has only one daughter, Savithri (Sheela). Madhavan Thampi notices Savithri singing along the stream one day and is drawn to her. Raghavan (Govindankutty) is the labourers' local leader. Another estate worker leader, Rajan (K. P. Ummer), is the subject of a criminal case brought against him by the estate owners, and the police are looking for him. Through Raghavan, Rajan finds safety at Savithri's home. Savithri and Rajan develop a romantic relationship.
ഒരു പെണ്ണിന്റെ കഥ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു ഗാനമാണ് "സൂര്യഗ്രഹണം". 1971-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഒരു മലയാളം ചലച്ചിത്രമാണിത്, ഇ. മോസസ് എഴുതി കെ.എസ്. സേതുമാധവൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തു. വയലാർ രാമവർമയുടെ വരികൾക്ക് ജി.ദേവരാജൻ മാസ്റ്ററാണ് സംഗീതം പകർന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്. കെ ജെ യേശുദാസ് ഈ ഗാനം ആലപിച്ചു. മാധവൻ തമ്പിയുടെ (സത്യൻ) തേയില ഫാമിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഗോവിന്ദന് (ടി. എസ്. മുത്തയ്യ) ഒരു മകൾ, സാവിത്രി (ഷീല). ഒരു ദിവസം സാവിത്രി അരുവിക്കരയിൽ പാടുന്നത് മാധവൻ തമ്പി ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയും അവളിലേക്ക് ആകർഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. രാഘവൻ (ഗോവിന്ദൻകുട്ടി) ആണ് തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ പ്രാദേശിക നേതാവ്. മറ്റൊരു എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് തൊഴിലാളി നേതാവായ രാജൻ (കെ. പി. ഉമ്മർ)ക്കെതിരെ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് ഉടമകൾ ചുമത്തിയ ക്രിമിനൽ കേസിന്റെ വിഷയമാണ്, പോലീസ് അവനെ തിരയുന്നു. രാഘവനിലൂടെ രാജൻ സാവിത്രിയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ സുരക്ഷിതത്വം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു. സാവിത്രിയും രാജനും പ്രണയബന്ധം വളർത്തുന്നു.
