Sivarathri is a festival celebrated throughout the country, with great fervour and devotion. Andhra Pradesha and Telangana also have an age-old tradition of celebrating this festival. The two states can boast of having some of the most venerated and ancient temples in the country. Of these, five shiva temples in Andhra Pradesh are clubbed together as Pancharamaalu or the five centres. This presentation not only gives a brief description of the festival of Shivaratri but also tells us about these five centres, along with the lores and legends surrounding them.
