"Sarkkarapanthalil Thenmazha Choriyum" is a song from the drama Kathirukanakkili. It's music was composed by G Devarajan and lyrics by Vayalar Ramavarma. A P Komala performed this song. A. P. Komala, is an Indian playback singer. She has sung songs in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada languages. She recorded very few songs in Tamil and Telugu during the 1960s, but she continued in Malayalam till the early 1970s. Kathirukanakkili (drama) is a Malayalam album released on 31 Dec 1974. It's Raga is Mohanam. Mohanam Raga is the most fundamental idea in Carnatic music and can be defined as a combination of a few melodic notes. All raga-based compositions and improvisations that we hear in concert halls are raga-based. Mohanam raga lends itself to a lot of elaboration and research, and there are a lot of classical and film music compositions based on it.
"ശർക്കരപന്തലിൽ തേൻമഴ ചൊരിയും" എന്ന ഗാനം കതിരുകാണാക്കിളി എന്ന നാടകത്തിലെ ഗാനം ആണ്. വയലാർ രാമവർമയുടെ വരികൾക്ക് ജി ദേവരാജൻ സംഗീതം പകർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. എ പി കോമളയാണ് ഈ ഗാനം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്. എ.പി. കോമള, ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ പിന്നണി ഗായികയാണ്. തമിഴ്, മലയാളം, തെലുങ്ക്, കന്നഡ ഭാഷകളിൽ ഗാനങ്ങൾ ആലപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1960 കളിൽ തമിഴിലും തെലുങ്കിലും വളരെ കുറച്ച് ഗാനങ്ങൾ അവർ റെക്കോർഡുചെയ്തു, പക്ഷേ 1970 കളുടെ ആരംഭം വരെ അവർ മലയാളത്തിൽ തുടർന്നു. 1974 ഡിസംബർ 31-ന് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഒരു മലയാള ആൽബമാണ് കതിരുകാണക്കിളി (നാടകം). അതിൻ്റെ രാഗമാണ് മോഹനം. കർണാടക സംഗീതത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും മൗലികമായ ആശയമാണ് മോഹനം രാഗം, ഏതാനും താളാത്മകമായ സ്വരങ്ങളുടെ സംയോജനമായി ഇതിനെ നിർവചിക്കാം. കച്ചേരി ഹാളുകളിൽ നാം കേൾക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ രാഗാധിഷ്ഠിത രചനകളും മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തലുകളും രാഗാധിഷ്ഠിതമാണ്. മോഹനം രാഗം ഒരുപാട് വിപുലീകരണങ്ങൾക്കും ഗവേഷണങ്ങൾക്കും വഴങ്ങുന്നു, അതിനെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി ധാരാളം ശാസ്ത്രീയവും ചലച്ചിത്ര രചനകളും ഉണ്ട്.
