K.J. Yesudas sang this popular devotional song in the film "Chemparathy." In the year 1972, P.N. Menon directed and Malayattoor Ramakrishnan wrote the film. S.N. Nair, a well-known literary figure and the creator of the 'Malayalanadu' weekly, produced this film. Vayalar Ramavarma wrote the lyrics for the song, which was composed by G. Devarajan. Madhu, Roja Ramani, Raghavan, and Sudheer feature in the film.
കെ.ജെ. യേശുദാസ്"ചെമ്പരത്തി" എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലാണ് ഈ ജനപ്രിയ ഭക്തിഗാനം ആലപിച്ചത്. 1972-ൽ പി.എൻ. മേനോൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് മലയാറ്റൂർ രാമകൃഷ്ണൻ തിരക്കഥ എഴുതി. പ്രശസ്ത സാഹിത്യകാരനും 'മലയാളനാട്' വാരികയുടെ സ്രഷ്ടാവുമായ എസ്.എൻ. നായരാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചത്. ജി.ദേവരാജൻ ഈണമിട്ട ഗാനത്തിന്റെ വരികൾ എഴുതിയത് വയലാർ രാമവർമയാണ്. മധു, റോജാ രമണി, രാഘവൻ, സുധീർ എന്നിവർ ചിത്രത്തിലുണ്ട്.
