Ahmed Rifai was related by blood to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on both his father's and mother's sides. Before Ahmed Rifai's birth, his maternal uncle, a famous shaykh, Mansur Rabbani, had a vision of our Prophet Hz. Muhammad (pbuh) and was told that his sister would have a male child who would be famous and be known by the name "Rifai." Ahmed Rifai's father passed away when his son was 7 years old. Ahmed Rifai's maternal uncle started taking care of the little boy. Ahmed Rifai showed ability and wisdom beyond his age when he began his education under Shaykh Vasiti. Shaykh Mansur said that all during Ahmed Rifai’s stay with him, he saw many miracles come through the boy and that many blessings came through him for everyone. One of the most widely known miracles associated with Hz. Shaykh Rifai is the one that give him the name Abul Alemeyin (Father of Two Banners). Shaykh Ahmed Rifai is known as one of the four major aqtab-ierbaa (qutbs of the time, which is the highest spiritual station after the prophets and messengers).
അഹമ്മദ് രിഫാഇക്ക് മുഹമ്മദ് നബി (സ) യോട് തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെയും മാതാവിന്റെയും രക്തബന്ധമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അഹമ്മദ് രിഫാഇയുടെ ജനനത്തിനുമുമ്പ്, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മാമൻ, പ്രശസ്ത ഷെയ്ഖ്, മൻസൂർ റബ്ബാനിക്ക്, നമ്മുടെ പ്രവാചകന്റെ ദർശനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. മുഹമ്മദ് (സ) യോട് തന്റെ സഹോദരിക്ക് ഒരു ആൺകുഞ്ഞ് ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നും അവൻ "രിഫായ്" എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടും എന്നും മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകി. മകന് 7 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അഹമ്മദ് രിഫായിയുടെ പിതാവ് മരിച്ചു. അഹമ്മദ് റിഫായിയുടെ അമ്മാവൻ കുഞ്ഞിനെ പരിപാലിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. ശൈഖ് വസതിയുടെ കീഴിൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ആരംഭിച്ചപ്പോൾ അഹമ്മദ് രിഫാഈ പ്രായത്തിനപ്പുറമുള്ള കഴിവും വിവേകവും പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. അഹമ്മദ് രിഫായി അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സമയത്തെല്ലാം ആ കുട്ടിയിലൂടെ നിരവധി അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ സംഭവിക്കുന്നത് താൻ കണ്ടുവെന്നും അവനിലൂടെ എല്ലാവർക്കും നിരവധി അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചതായും ഷെയ്ഖ് മൻസൂർ പറഞ്ഞു. അദ്ദേഹവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഏറ്റവും വ്യാപകമായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന അത്ഭുതങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് രണ്ടു മുദ്രാവാക്യങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവ് എന്ന പേര് നൽകിയത്. ശൈഖ് അഹമ്മദ് രിഫായ് നാല് പ്രധാന അഖ്താബ്-ഇർബകളിൽ ഒരാളായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
