Shalini' is a poem by Changambuzha Krishnapilla. This poem was sung by Srimathi Sujatha. Changambuzha was a well-known Malayalam poet from Kerala, India, who is most known for his 1936 elegy Ramanan. It's a long pastoral elegy, a verse play based on the life of Changampuzha's companion Edappally Raghavan Pillai, according to legend. Changampuzha was a poet who created a special definition of love and friendship. With his simple romantic approach, he is credited with popularising poetry. At the age of 36, he died of TB. His style impacted subsequent generations of Malayalam poets, including Vayalar Ramavarma, a well-known Malayalam lyricist.
ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ കൃഷ്ണപിള്ളയുടെ കവിതയാണ് 'ശാലിനി'. ശ്രീമതി സുജാതയാണ് ഈ കവിത ആലപിച്ചത്. 1936-ലെ രമണൻ എന്ന പേരിലാണ് ചങ്ങമ്ബുഴ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്, കേരളത്തിലെ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു മലയാള കവിയാണ്. ഐതിഹ്യമനുസരിച്ച്, ചങ്ങമ്പുഴയുടെ സഹയാത്രികനായ ഇടപ്പള്ളി രാഘവൻ പിള്ളയുടെ ജീവിതത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കിയുള്ള ഒരു പദ്യ നാടകമാണിത്. പ്രണയത്തിനും സൗഹൃദത്തിനും പ്രത്യേക നിർവ്വചനം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച കവിയായിരുന്നു ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ. തൻ്റെ ലളിതമായ റൊമാന്റിക് സമീപനത്തിലൂടെ, കവിതയെ ജനകീയമാക്കിയതിന്റെ ബഹുമതി അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുണ്ട്. 36-ാം വയസ്സിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ടിബി ബാധിച്ച് മരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശൈലി മലയാളത്തിലെ പ്രശസ്ത ഗാനരചയിതാവായ വയലാർ രാമവർമ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള മലയാള കവികളുടെ തുടർന്നുള്ള തലമുറകളെ സ്വാധീനിച്ചു.
