What exactly is self-management? Self-management, also known as "self-control" or "self-regulation," is the ability to effectively regulate one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviours in a variety of situations. This includes stress management, delaying gratification, motivating oneself, and setting and achieving personal and academic goals. From an organisational standpoint, team members' ability to self-manage is critical to an organization's effective functioning. When it comes to empowering employees across the organisation to be more innovative and resourceful, self-management becomes even more important. Goal alignment, Role clarity, Strategic planning, Priority-setting, Self-awareness, Emotional regulation, and Self-care are all related skills that can be learned and refined.
