Presentations | English

‘Carbon and its compounds’ is the 4th chapter in the 10th grade NCERT science textbook. Carbon is an element which is of immense significance to us in both its elemental form and the combined form. All living structures are carbon based. The amount of carbon present in the earth’s crust and in the atmosphere is quite meagre. The earth’s crust has only 0.02% carbon in the form of minerals (like carbonates, hydrogen carbonates, coal, and petroleum) and the atmosphere has 0.03% of carbon dioxide. In spite of the small amount of carbon available in nature, the importance of carbon seems to be immense. Let’s learn about the properties of carbon which makes carbon so important to us. Please go through the PPT to understand in detail about the following topics: · Occurrence of carbon and its importance, · Bonding in carbon – the covalent bond, and · Allotropes of carbon Download all five parts to learn the entire chapter thoroughly and perform well in exams.
