Since 1954, many Telugu writers have been honoured with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award. In this multi-part series, we provide you with the names of all these authors as well as their brief biographies and information about their writings. Covered in this section are Peddibhotla Subbaramayya garu & M Bhupala Reddy garu. Peddibhotla Subbaramayya is regarded as one of the most famous contemporary Telugu writers. His ‘Peddibhotla Subbaramayya Kathalu’ won the Sahithya Akademi Award in 2012. His writings are mostly woven around ordinary middle-class people and their lives, with a tragic tint. M. Bhupala Reddy garu is a Telugu writer and actor. His literary work ‘Uggupalu' won the Sahithya Akademi Award in 2011. Bhupala Reddy garu is also a song writer, an actor and wrote on Komaram Bheem, and several children’s books like Gudu Gudu Guncham. More on these two writers and their writings is provided in this presentation.
