Sahithya Academy Award Winners in Telugu Part 33 Abburi Chaya Devi and Utpala Satyanarayana

Since 1954, many Telugu writers have been honoured with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award. In this multi-part series, we provide you with the names of all these authors as well as their brief biographies and information about their writings. Covered in this section are Abburi Chaya Devi garu and Utpala Satyanarayana garu. Abburi Chayadevi garu is a feminist and Telugu story writer. Most of her stories revolve around the plight of women in middle-class families and about women who are subject to the arrogance of men. Some of her stories have been translated into Hindi, Tamil, Marathi and Kannada. Dr. Utpala Satyanarayanacharya is a great Telugu poet who has written many poems based on ancient literature. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2003 for his poem Sri Krishna Chandrodaya. More about these two eminent writers and their writings can be seen in this presentation.
