Since 1954, many Telugu writers have been honoured with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award. In this multi-part series, we provide you with the names of all these authors as well as their brief biographies and information about their writings. Covered in this section is Sri Vallampati Venkata Subbaiah garu. Criticism is not an easy task. Venata Subbayya garu was one such critic that managed to win many a heart with his persuasive criticism. HIs literary career started with him penning essays, and then he went on to becoming a translator as well. As a lecturer, he was also a mentor to many students. He won the Sahithya Akademy Award in 2000 for his book Kathasilpam. More about him and his writings may be found in this presentation.
