Since 1954, many Telugu writers have been honoured with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award. In this multi-part series, we provide you with the names of all these authors as well as their brief biographies and information about their writings. Covered in this section is Dasaradhi Krishnamacharya garu. He won the Sahithya Academy Award in 1972 for his book of poems called Thimiramtho Samaram. He is known to have written poems on the walls of a jail with pieces of coal. Apart from his literary works which include poems like Naa Thalli Telangana, he is also known for the movie songs that he has penned.
